Description Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our manufacturing team in Fresno, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing accounting functions, enhancing internal controls, and contributing to forecasting and long-term financial planning. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate across departments while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with financial standards. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist the Controller in managing the organization's accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Supervise the Accounts Receivable department to ensure efficient billing and collections processes. u2022 Participate in the month-end closing process by preparing and reviewing journal entries and verifying the accuracy of financial statements. u2022 Contribute to the preparation of annual audited financial statements, including detailed footnote disclosures. u2022 Perform and review monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounts. u2022 Develop and implement new procedures to streamline departmental workflows and improve efficiency. u2022 Assess current internal controls and recommend updates to enhance processes across the organization. u2022 Collaborate with the Controller to support integration efforts for new entities, ensuring alignment with system requirements. u2022 Work with Commercial Finance and Operations Finance to support monthly forecasting processes and maintain rolling financial statements. u2022 Provide training to staff and participate in sustainability initiatives to align with the companyu2019s environmental goals. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. u2022 Strong proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger accounting. u2022 Demonstrated experience with financial statement audits and reporting. u2022 Knowledge of cost accounting and its application in manufacturing environments. u2022 Ability to evaluate and improve internal controls and accounting procedures. u2022 Familiarity with forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling. u2022 Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments. u2022 Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
