Opportunity Overview Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Chair of Anesthesia to lead one of Central Pennsylvaniau2019s most respected anesthesia departments. This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic physician leader to define the future of anesthesia care across a top-ranked regional health system and within the broader Penn Medicine network. The Chair will oversee all anesthesia services for Lancaster General Hospital u2013 a 602-bed, Level One Trauma Center and U.S. News & World Report u201cBest Hospitalu201d u2013 as well as several outpatient and ambulatory locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience, strategic insight, and a passion for fostering collaboration and clinical excellence. The Role As the executive clinical and operational leader for anesthesia services, the Chair will: + Shape a vision for comprehensive, high-quality anesthesia care across inpatient and outpatient sites. + Lead a talented team of 35 anesthesiologists and more than 60 CRNAs dedicated to exceptional care and safety. + Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement , ensuring high reliability and zero harm. + Partner closely with hospital and system leadership to align departmental goals with Penn Medicineu2019s mission and strategic priorities. + Advance clinical innovation and operational performance through data-driven quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives. + Oversee financial and resource stewardship , including budgeting, productivity, and operational planning. + Promote professional growth and engagement across the department.
