Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems on thermoforming automation equipment. 2. Perform preventive maintenance procedures as specified in the QSI system. 3. Complete work assigned by Group Leader or Asst. Group Leader. 4. Communicate activities with Group Leader and other members of department. 5. Maintain neat and orderly appearance of the shop and automation equipment. 6. Obtain parts in emergency cases. 7. Assist in other departments as requested by Group Leader or Asst. Group Leader. 8. Seek training to stay current with job requirements. 9. Assume control of machine when a situation arises which has potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of machine. Qualifications Education: u2022 High school diploma / GED equivalent. u2022 Willingness to complete a four year maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program. Practical: u2022 Relevant past work experience. u2022 Able to accept responsibility for work performed. u2022 Able to work independently and with others. u2022 Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building. u2022 Knowledge on mechanical systems. u2022 Basic trouble shooting skills. u2022 Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined abiding by all Berry Plastics codes of ethics, safety polices and rules. u2022 Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex. u2022 Ability to Safely use a forklift independently and maintain all applicable training requirements for use in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others.
