Job Title: Board Certified Master Arborist - VM Utility ConsultingLocation: Northern CaliforniaEmployment Type: Full-TimeIndustry: Utility / Vegetation Management ConsultingAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) to provide expert consulting services for utility vegetation management programs. This role ensures compliance, safety, and sustainability while supporting utility clients with strategic planning and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesVegetation Management Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive vegetation management plans for utility clients.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure programs meet NERC, CPUC, and other regulatory requirements.Tree Risk Assessment: Perform advanced assessments for hazard trees near utility infrastructure.Audit & Inspection: Conduct audits of contractor work and vegetation programs for compliance and quality assurance.Client Consulting: Advise utilities on best practices, emerging trends, and cost-effective solutions.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and resource plans for vegetation programs.Training & Education: Provide training sessions for utility staff and contractors on arboricultural standards and safety.Technology Integration: Utilize GIS, LiDAR, and vegetation management software for planning and reporting.Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with regulators, landowners, and community stakeholders regarding vegetation management activities.Emergency Response: Support storm restoration and emergency vegetation clearance efforts.QualificationsBoard Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) ISA credential required.ISA Utility Specialist certification preferred.Minimum 7 years in utility vegetation management or consulting.Strong knowledge of ANSI A300, OSHA, and industry best practices.Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.SkillsTechnical Expertise: Advanced arboriculture, tree biology, and risk assessment.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NERC, CPUC, ANSI A300, and OSHA standards.Technology Proficiency: GIS mapping, LiDAR analysis, and vegetation management software.Project Management: Budgeting, scheduling, and resource munication: Ability to present complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Strategic thinking for vegetation risk mitigation and compliance.Leadership: Training and mentoring field crews and utility staff.Emergency Response: Rapid decision-making during storm and outage events.Why Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits.Work on high-impact projects that improve reliability and safety.Professional growth and continuing education opportunities.Learn more about us and meet our team by visiting our website:
