Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Fusion Technician with experience in plastics or an understanding of polyurethane products. Ideally, candidates will have experience from utility or construction jobs involving piping installations. This role primarily operates within a climate-controlled production facility, with occasional tasks in an outdoor pipe yard. The technician will be responsible for fabricating HDPE fittings using fusion techniques, operating saws and other equipment, and ensuring all work complies with quality and safety standards. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with team members to support production goals. Responsibilities + Follow all safety protocols and promote a culture of safety. + Perform pre-operation inspections on all equipment before use. + Operate fusion machines, band saws, forklifts, telehandlers, and hand/power tools. + Cut, machine, and fuse HDPE pipe to produce fittings per industry and company standards. + Utilize fusion data recording devices and complete KPA reports. + Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop and pipe yard. + Inspect final products to ensure compliance with quality standards. + Report equipment maintenance needs to the Production Manager. + Support both indoor and occasional outdoor tasks as needed. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in production, machine operation, and machine operating. + Proficiency with hand tools, tape measure, and mechanical skills. + Forklift operation, experience in polyurethane and plastics manufacturing. + Background in utility or construction work with plastic piping. + Field experience in fusion techniques. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Minimum 2 years of HDPE fusion or related experience preferred. + McElroy fusion certification required or willingness to obtain certification. + Ability to pass safety and fusion training courses and maintain certifications. + Skills in tape measure reading, inspection, assembly, and CNC operations. Work Environment Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled indoor facility, with occasional tasks in an outdoor pipe yard exposed to weather conditions. The role involves exposure to noise, dust, and fumes such as fuel and exhaust, as well as working around moving equipment and machinery. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
