Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Orange, California. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic accounting team, oversee financial operations, and contribute to the strategic growth of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, team leadership, and advanced financial practices. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee all aspects of construction accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. u2022 Manage financial audits, including union, payroll, and organizational audits, while maintaining detailed reporting processes. u2022 Supervise a 15-person accounting team, including direct oversight of 4-5 staff members at various levels. u2022 Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering attention to detail and growth. u2022 Develop and implement financial models to support strategic decision-making. u2022 Collaborate with union labor teams to ensure compliance with regulations and reporting standards. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel functionalities, such as pivot tables and data analysis, to streamline financial processes. u2022 Prepare and present detailed board reports on financial performance and organizational initiatives. u2022 Ensure the effective operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. u2022 Drive continual improvement in financial systems and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency. Requirements u2022 Extensive experience in construction accounting and financial management. u2022 Proficiency in accrual accounting and audit processes, including union and payroll audits. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, with a track record of hands-on leadership. u2022 Strong knowledge of union labor regulations and related financial reporting. u2022 Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, data mining, and building financial models. u2022 Experience supervising multiple direct reports in a structured accounting environment. u2022 Ability to train and mentor staff, supporting their attention to detail and growth. u2022 Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage complex financial operations.
