Job Description MEP Inspector Join AECOM as a Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of mechanical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: + Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing systems, confirming proper functionality and performance + Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards + Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications + Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions + Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance + Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions + Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking + Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts + Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups + u00b7Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications Qualifications Minimum Requirements + HS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Experience with local codes + Experience with construction methods and techniques Preferred Requirements: + BA/BS in Construction, Electrical engineering or equivalent certification. Waived for eight (8) years of similar inspection role + OSHA 10-hour training certification + Certified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software + Experience working with federal Project Management Systems Additional Information + Sponsorship is not available for this position + Relocation is not available for this position Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
