Job Title: Chemist OperatorJob Description The Chemist Operator is responsible for producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients using Chemical Reactors. The role requires strict adherence to a Batch Record to ensure the consistency and quality of the products. Responsibilities + Handle various unit operations such as reactions, filtration, distillation, drying, and milling on raw materials and different stages of chemical processing according to written manufacturing procedures and SOPs. + Follow and document instructions per batch sheet to produce products according to all cGMP guidelines. + Set up equipment including vessels, tanks, centrifuges, and dryers for proper processing. + Clean and verify equipment and vessels. + Record observations of operating conditions. + Drive and operate a fork truck. + Work prioritization or timing decisions with supervisory oversight. + Make utility adjustments to maintain reaction parameters. + Maintain process flow through the plant while adhering to all safety, GMP, and environmental regulations/standards. Essential Skills + Proficiency in chemical operations. + Experience in batching. + Knowledge of cGMP guidelines. + Ability to set up and clean chemical processing equipment. + Fork truck operating skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma with relevant experience or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in sciences, preferably Chemical Technology or Chemistry. + 1-5 years of experience in chemical operation or batching. + GMP experience from food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries. Work Environment The work environment consists of a clean laboratory and production setting. Initial training will occur on the 1st shift for 3-6 months, after which the position will transition to a permanent shift from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., following a 2-2-3 schedule, including work on alternate weekends. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grafton, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.50/hr.
