Description We are looking for a detail-oriented entry-level Staff Accountant to join our team in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract opportunity suited for someone passionate about corporate tax processes and financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting tax audits, bookkeeping, and maintaining the integrity of financial records. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist in preparing corporate tax returns with accuracy and compliance. u2022 Perform detailed bookkeeping tasks to ensure financial records are organized and up-to-date. u2022 Support tax audit activities by gathering documentation and preparing necessary reports. u2022 Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial accounts. u2022 Reconcile general ledger balances and resolve discrepancies promptly. u2022 Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure consistent financial practices. u2022 Review financial data for accuracy and identify areas for improvement. u2022 Maintain compliance with applicable tax regulations and accounting standards. u2022 Communicate effectively with external auditors and stakeholders during audits.
