Furnace Operator's Needed on 1st & 2nd Shift Wartburg, TN Job Description We are seeking skilled Furnace Operators for a temp-to-perm role covering two shifts. Join a dynamic team with multiple openings for both Melt Room Operators and Melt Operator Converters. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with career growth potential. Responsibilities + Read, understand, and follow established procedures to conduct work safely, effectively, and in an environmentally friendly manner. + Identify and prepare appropriate equipment for melting, including the furnace, crucible, mold, and supporting equipment. Inspect equipment for defects and wear. + Prepare materials for melting, including calculating slag composition ratios and other raw materials. + Transfer or remove molten metal from furnaces and place it into molds using hoists, pumps, or ladles. + Participate in the oxidation of alloy and related refining techniques under elevated temperatures. + Record production or process data and maintain logs as required. + Regulate supplies of fuel, air, oxygen, and water coolant to heat furnaces and adjust temperatures. + Observe and record key process indicators such as air and temperature gauges or metal color and fluidity, and adjust controls to maintain required temperatures. + Maintain material accountability during preparation and production by using scales or other measuring equipment in compliance with standard procedures. + Conduct analytical tests and sampling to confirm material composition. + Organize materials into drums to be closed, sealed, and weighed prior to shipment according to customer and company specifications. Work Environment Work in a non-climate controlled plant, which may be hot or cold depending on the season. The role requires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment, including safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, or a breathing apparatus. The noise level varies from quiet to moderate, and you may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards and adhere to all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wartburg, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
