Job Title: Machine Assembler Job Description We are seeking a skilled assembler for our location in South Bend, IN. This role involves working at heights and requires the ability to climb ladders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fastening joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers, ensuring all work aligns with quality specifications and safety guidelines. Experience in a team environment and experience in construction are advantageous for this position. Responsibilities + Screw sheet metal panels together + Install insulation + Use power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment + Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials + Utilize calculators and tape measures + Fasten seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into products + Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets + Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies + Maintain cleanliness of the work area Essential Skills + Proficiency in assembly, sheet metal, and use of hand and power tools + Experience with mechanical assembly and construction + Ability to read tape measures, levels, and squares + Capability to lift up to 40 pounds + Possession of steel-toed boots and a basic set of hand tools, or ability to acquire them within two weeks of starting Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous experience in building large equipment + Construction experience in carpentry, drywall, or metal roofing + Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a fabrication shop environment, which can be darker, dirty, and loud. The company manufactures large control panels that sit on top of commercial buildings. Work hours are from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
