Cnc Lathe Machinist

Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist - 2nd Shift Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. You will operate a Twin Spindle Twin Turret Lathe to manufacture fire fighting equipment, including handline nozzles, apparatus valves and fittings, industrial valves, adapters, caps, and plugs. Responsibilities + Set up and operate CNC Lathe machining centers. + Spend 30% of your time performing setups and change outs. + Spend 70% of your time monitoring machines, inspecting completed parts, and cleaning/organizing work areas. + Conduct 1 to 3 setups per shift, with runs ranging from 20 to 200 parts. + Operate Okuma-Howa Lathes, including Bar Feeder Lathes and others. + Run two machines simultaneously. + Use micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications. + Mount, install, align, and secure tools and fixtures on machines. + Read, understand, and edit programs for Bar Feeders. + Perform preventative maintenance on CNC lathes. + Maintain a tolerance of +/- .005. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience in setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Lathe machinery. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, some with up to 100 dimensions. + Expertise in utilizing precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. + Experience working with tight tolerances up to +/- .005. + Understanding of G & M codes to change tooling and make offset adjustments. + Mechanical and critical thinking skills for making accurate adjustments. + Ability to lift 50 pounds. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $28.46/hr.
