Lockheed Martin is seeking a Computer Engineer Intern - Summer 2026. In this role, you will develop and implement embedded software for discrete and FPGA-based microcontrollers contributing to the development of Software Defined Radios using C/C++, GitLab, and VSCode while collaborating with a development team to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of programming, data analysis, and software development methodologies. This position is located in Severn, MD. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Currently enrolled in a Bacheloru2019s (or Masteru2019s) program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. u2022 Rising senior u2022 Strong coursework in digital logic, micro controllers, computer architecture, embedded systems, and/or signal processing. u2022 Experience with micro controller development boards (Arduino, RaspberryPi, STM32, MSP430, etc.). u2022 Clear written and verbal communication; ability to document code and design decisions u2022 Experience working in small groups (lab partners, project teams, clubs). u2022 Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and develop testable solutions (e.g., through class projects, hackathons, personal side projects). Desired Skills: u2022 Proficiency in C/C++ u2022 Configuring peripherals (UART, SPI, Iu00b2C, PWM, ADC). u2022 Writing interrupt service routines and managing real time constraints. u2022 Using RTOS basics (FreeRTOS, ThreadX) for task scheduling. u2022 Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for scripting, data analysis, or test automation. u2022 Version control (Git / GitHub / Bitbucket). u2022 Writing clear, documented code (comments, README, API docs) u2022 Knowledge of code reviews, continuous integration concepts. u2022 IDEs such as Eclipse, Keil, IAR, Visual Studio Code. u2022 Basic use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or multimeters for debugging. u2022 Basic FPGA/HDL exposure Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: Part-Time as assigned by leader Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateu2019s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
