Youu2019re following your purpose and looking for a role within a group known to provide key knowledge and skills utilized by many to expand their career opportunities. As part of Jacobsu2019 Project Accounting team, you will join a group of strategic-focused professionals who support projects worldwide (ideal candidate will be located in Greenville, SC).Along with your team, youu2019ll maintain projects in Oracle, review contract terms, issue and review client invoices, perform monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue, and regularly analyze and verify the accuracy of project data. Youu2019ll also participate in internal and external audits, prepare rate adjustments on provisional billing rates, and perform detailed analysis to prepare final invoices for assigned projects. Your keen attention to detail will lead to your success in performing all these project critical functions.As a Project Accountant, you will: Follow company policies, procedures, and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), statutory requirements and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls. Maintain project setup and project close in appropriate manner to ensure completeness and accuracy of projectu2019s evidence. Prepare client invoices in accordance with the contract terms. Provide month-end reporting on project performance including gross margin variances and all other financial aspects, prepares specialized reports and accounting data analysis. Effectively communicate with the project team during the entire life cycle of the project and provides continuous support and guidance. Monitor project balances on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Unbilled and Unearned items, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding). Prepare various journal entries such as: revenue adjustments, cost accruals, provision for loss. Liaise with other departments, clients and outside vendors to resolve cross-functional matters. Ensure that all deadlines are met. Participate in internal and external audits. Prepare project specific analysis and ad hoc reporting. Interpret accounting data, reviews reports and recommend action to be taken. Solve a range of straightforward and medium complex problems. Propose process and system improvements. May be requested to provide on-the-job training to new joiners. Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent major Professional experience with working knowledge of ERP system, preferably Oracle Excellent Microsoft Excel skillsIdeally, youu2019ll also have: At least 3 years of engineering and consultant project accounting experience Detail orientated with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage various deadlines and client requirements Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Familiarity with the government contract compliance regulations found in the FAR and CAS#LI-MP1Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
