Electrical Switchgear Functional Tester - 1st Shift

Eatonu2019s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Electrical Switchgear Functional Tester - 1st Shift to join our team. The hourly rate for this position is $27.00 per hour. The core hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What youu2019ll do: Position Overview: The primary function of an Electrical Tester is to perform electrical/mechanical test, troubleshoot and inspect Eaton power products such as Low Voltage Assemblies, Medium Voltage Assemblies, Medium Voltage Switches, Metal Enclosed Front-Access Switchgear and/or Motor Control Centers in order to verify product functionality prior to shipment to the end user. The Electrical tester will perform these tasks according to the Eaton electrical test safety standards, customer specifications and factory acceptance procedures. In this function you will: u2022 Prepare product for test and inspection in accordance with Eaton electrical test safety standards, customer specifications and quality requirements. u2022 Perform mechanical inspection, insulation tests, electrical sequence tests according to the customer specification and assembly drawings/schematics. u2022 Troubleshoot various problems that occur during test to determine root causes and report findings to the area manager, engineering, quality, production, supply chain, etc. u2022 Enter Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for all quality issues found during test. u2022 Partner with other test technicians, engineering and production concerning test procedures, customer specifications and problems found during test. u2022 Compose final test reports. Send out daily test findings to production areas. u2022 Ensure changes and/or corrections, completed by engineering and production are made as required and reflected on assembly drawings/schematics. u2022 Partner with other test technicians and engineering/sales in assisting with customer witness tests and inspection. u2022 Conduct preventative maintenance on assigned test equipment and PPE. u2022 Complete equipment pre-flight inspections. u2022 Completed and maintain Eaton specific training requirements and certifications. u2022 Participate in production Tier 2 meetings, alignment meetings and quality meetings. u2022 Provide estimated testing times and test need dates to scheduler and production teams. u2022 Continuously improve work environment processes through use of Lean tools and participating in Lean events, GEMBA, MESH, 5S+ and PPC employee training. u2022 Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: u2022 High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required u2022 Minimum 2 yearsu2019 work experience in electronics and/or electrical field, or equivalent u2022 Able to read and interpret complex electrical schematics u2022 Previous experience in troubleshooting complex electrical circuits u2022 Experience working in a team-based environment u2022 Testing experience including extensive internal & external customer interface u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
