Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Responsibilities Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System Core Privileges include history and physical, admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including consultation, of patients presenting with acute care complaints, diseases, and injuries and the focus on diseases of the heart and blood vessels and management of complex cardiac conditions, such as heart attacks and life threatening, abnormal heartbeat rhythms. Additional responsibilities are to perform Pharmacologic Stress Tests, perform and Interpret Exercise Tolerance Tests, perform and Interpret Echocardiograms, and external Cardioversion. Other duties may include, but are not limited to: Evaluate patients utilizing laboratory and clinical findings to determine appropriate treatment or referral to a specialty clinic. Provide ongoing care for chronic cardiovascular diseases and complications of these diseases such as valvular heart disease, ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, and arrhythmia. Exercise independent judgment in the selection and performance of a full range of diagnostic procedures for patients. Collaborate with specialists in other sub-specialties or cases with complex and multifaceted problems. Provide inpatient Cardiology consultative services and management (includes on call duty) Perform transesophageal echocardiography Provide interpretation of EKGs, Holter data, mobile telemetry date, and stress tests Provide interpretation of nuclear myocardial perfusion scans or obtain those privileges within 6 months of employment.
