Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. He or she performs diagnoses and treatments of the full range of cases and problems encountered, in collaboration with other medical staff as appropriate. He or she may supervise and mentor students, medical students and residents, nurse practitioners, and . The incumbent expected to become joint faculty with an affiliated university. The clinical duties of this position include serving as an attending pulmonologist and critical care physician, performing inpatient and outpatient consultations, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with pulmonary disease and sleep disorders teaching medical students and supervising residents, fellows, and nurse practitioners. This position is a key medical staff appointment as selected by the medical staff and administration of the Boise VA Medical Center. It requires knowledge in all facets of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care. The position may require participation in regular meetings, committees and boards as deemed appropriate by the Chief of Staff and/or Associate Chief of Staff - Medicine. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
