New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.As part of a high performing team, you will oversee and execute structural analysis for various structures and systems on the New Shepard reusable launch vehicle. You will take ownership of the structural analysis and verification activities for vehicle design changes to improve vehicle safety, reliability, performance, and reduce operational cost. You will also support the disposition and repair development for manufacturing non-conformance and service damage.Our best team members are flexible in constantly evolving environments, thorough, detail oriented and passionate. Passion for our mission and vision is requiredResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform structural analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary pressurized and/or cryogenic systems and components including metallic piece parts, tubes, valves, and pressure vessels.Provide technical guidance for integration and general Liaison Engineering support.Coach, mentor and technically assist early career engineers.Support configuration development and trade studiesApply practical approaches to hardware fabrication and cost impactsCreate test plans, specifications, and other documentation for the development of flight hardwareWork with vertically-integrated teams that are responsible for materials, manufacturing processes, to produce world-class aerospace hardwareIdentify opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savings.Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience within the fields of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures or systems analysisDemonstrated excellence in the following areas:Static analysis of composite and metallic structuresDamage tolerance assessment of composite and metallic structuresVehicle level finite element model pre- and post-processing as well as model verification and validationDesired:Experience analyzing pressurized cryogenic components and/or pressurized flow componentsKnowledge of fluid systems manufacturing processesExperience with metallic weld analysisLoads development experienceExperience with typical composite manufacturing defects and repair developmentCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $117,498.00-$164,497.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
