Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightThis role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.As part of a small passionate team working on engine fluid controls, you will own designs from concept through qualification and be involved in all aspect of the development. You will design valve components, assemblies, and tools as well as mentor and lead other engineers through development approaches and techniques for fluid control systems. You will collaborate with program leaders, systems engineers, suppliers, and test groups to select architectures and design solutions which will provide the best benefit to our rocket engines. You will oversee testing of components, both on their own and within engine hot fire tests, to ensure valves are tested with high rigor and comply with their design requirements and design goals. You will help define and refine best practices for engine valves and mechanisms to increase the efficiency of our design approaches and processes.Some components you could be responsible for include: solenoid valves, pneumatically actuated valves, check valves, cryogenic valves, and pressurized fluid systems.Minimum Qualifications:Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in spaceB.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)8+ years of professional engineering experience with valves, fluid control systems, and mechanisms, to include rocket or jet engine experience.Experience examining, and providing resolutions for, non-conforming hardware.Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis.Strong knowledge of hardware design processes, and hardware fabrication techniques related to valves.Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skillsComputer aided design (CAD) experience.Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), (ASME Y14.5).Familiarity with data analysis and data processing.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in engineering disciplineExperience designing products for cryogenic fluidsExposure to or experience with pneumatic/hydraulic valves design, test, and manufacturingExperience in vendor managementExperience with production quality management systemsExperience transitioning products from development to productionExperience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, and Windchill 10Compensation Range for:WA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
