Civil Engineering Lead EstimatorCincinnati, Ohio 45215Founded in 1960, Trans Ash is a rapidly growing civil land construction & environmental company. We are expanding our Engineering Department and are seeking to add an Lead Estimator to work on a variety of projects with our valued customers in the utility industry. Work will include many aspects of project estimation, scheduling, and project management for civil construction projects.Essential Functions:- Ability to perform all aspects of project estimation including performing quantity takeoffs, calculating cost, assembling proposals, technical writing, leading customer facing presentations and negotiating contracts.- Performs work both in the field and in an office environment.- Manage quality of work to include accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents.- Willingness to learn and develop skills in estimating software, scheduling software, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, aerial surveying, and other engineering functions.- Accommodate client and job site needs by responding to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Job Requirements and QualificationsEducation:- Required Education: Possess a 4-year degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.- Required Experience: Minimum, 5 years of construction experience in engineering, estimating, project management, project controls or similar capacity.Knowledge / Skills Requirements:- Must be professional at all times, as the position is customer facing.- Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word.- Proficient communication skills.- Detail oriented with the ability to identify and current errors.- Willing to mentor entry level employees.- Experience with Estimating and Scheduling Software (such as Heavy Bid) is a plus.- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Overnight travel to our job sites will be required at times, anticipated to be +/- 15% of workdays.Must be physically able to perform work outside.Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.Must be able to
