Part time and temporary 20 hours per week 100% onsite Position Summary/ Department Summary: The Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children Hospital offers the latest and best in diagnostics and care for children with vision problems, no matter how simple or complex. We specialize in treating cataracts in babies and children, traumatic eye injuries, juvenile glaucoma and a variety of other conditions and focus on patient-centered care. Learn more about the Department of Ophthalmology here . Key Responsibilities: Working 20hours/week alongside the BCH Ophthalmology administrative team and their providers. Focusing on helping the team with daily administrative tasks this internship will build competencies in patient communication/interaction, scheduling, chart prep/oversight, as well as many other aspects of Hospital Administration. After training period, opportunities to shadow other areas of the departmentallowing for a more well-rounded overview of the different opportunities in healthcare. Minimum Qualifications Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Healthcare administration majors/minors preferred Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations Have the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
