This role is responsible for dispatching the most appropriate air or ground resource based on patient needs and mission requirements, ensuring safety and efficiency through strong communication and customer service.Specialists use a variety of systems and tools, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), telecommunications equipment, mapping and flight tracking software, weather and traffic monitoring, and remote video surveillance of helipads. They provide real-time updates to stakeholders, manage logistics, and help ensure the safe completion of every mission.Department Name: Children'sOne Flight TeamJob Status: Full time, 36 hours per weekShift: DAY 05:45-18:15, NIGHT 17:45-06:15Duties & ResponsibilitiesPOPULATION SPECIFIC CARENo direct patient care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAn employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.1. Determines priority and preferred transport mode for all incoming transport requests in accordance with established policies and procedures2. Receives and handles all customer requests related to medical transports in a friendly, timely, and professional manner; communicates with Flight Team medical crews, pilots, and program leadership to coordinate transport and ensure smooth operations.3. Maintains data entries in the CAD for all requests, declines, cancels and out-of-service activities4. Tracks and monitors locations and statuses of all on-duty vehicles, aircraft and personnel, and performs manual flight tracking as needed5. Monitors multiple helipads within the Children's Hospital Colorado System and collaborates directly with multiple air medical programs across the region to assure safe operations6. Directly handles all declines and cancels of transport requests with the requesting party by offering alternate solutions for transportation as appropriate7. Communicates directly with program leadership including Administrator-on-Call when complicated issues arise8. Participates in debriefs and quality reviews with crews, Safety Officer and other members of the communications team as needed9. Assists with coordinating ALS/BLS level transports with contracted vendors10. Engages in Communications Center and Flight Team Staff Meetings monthly11. Follows CAMTS accrediting requirements12. Contributes willingly, effectively, and efficiently as a team member in various committees accomplishing the stated goals of the Children'sOne and Children's Hospital of Colorado13.
