The successful candidate will lead and contribute to cloud-native solution development, infrastructure automation, and the modernization of mission-critical services, including file transfer and messaging queue (MQ) platforms, in a secure and agile AWS environment. The role is part of a broader mission supporting key government programs across intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. Location: Washington DC (Remote) Pay: $55 - $60 an hour _This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance._ Responsibilities: u00d8 Lead the strategic planning and execution of migrating and maintaining large complex data flows to modern cloud environments, specifically leveraging AWS cloud technologies u00d8 Write clean, maintainable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and cloud service logic using tools such as Python, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation or CDK. u00d8 Develop and deploy event-driven and containerized applications using Lambda, Step Functions, and Kubernetes (EKS). u00d8 Support and enhance COTS products providing file transfer and MQ services (e.g., IBM MQ, Connect:Direct), integrating them into modern AWS architectures. u00d8 Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation of AWS environments and deployed solutions. u00d8 Coordinate closely with stakeholders across teams to manage integration and interface requirements, ensuring clear communication and alignment with overall business objectives. u00d8 Design and develop cloud-native solutions. Experience Requirements: u00d8 Professional experience in software development, including substantial experience in technical leadership capacity. u00d8 Strong background in AWS cloud engineering and development, including experience with services such as: EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, Glue, EKS/ECS u00d8 Proficient in scripting and programming languages: Python, Ansible, Bash u00d8 Experience developing or supporting infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles. u00d8 Experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform. u00d8 Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). u00d8 Experience communicating with business users and stakeholders. u00d8 Experience supporting or integrating file transfer and MQ tools (e.g., IBM MQ, Connect:Direct). u00d8 Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Agile delivery teams (e.g., Scrum, SAFe). u00d8 Understanding compliance and security best practices in federal financial cloud environments. Education Requirements: u00d8 Bacheloru2019s Degree and 5 years of experience or 9 years of experience with a HS Diploma. _Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate.
