Manufacturing Environmental Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking an Manufacturing Environmental Specialist to support and strengthen environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory readiness across our high-volume manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead day-to-day environmental programs, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and partner closely with operations to build a strong environmental and sustainability culture. With the capacity to produce 70 buses per day, our facility operates at the forefront of manufacturing efficiency, innovation, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities u00b7 Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve overall environmental performance u00b7 Collaborate with Health & Safety to support a strong, integrated EHS culture u00b7 Oversee, prepare, and submit annual environmental permits (TCEQ, SWPPP, SPCC) u00b7 Coordinate ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification and recertification activities u00b7 Develop and deliver environmental training programs for employees u00b7 Lead environmental strategy, risk reduction initiatives, and compliance improvement projects u00b7 Conduct internal environmental assessments, audits, and site inspections u00b7 Work closely with Internationalu2019s Corporate Environmental Team on North America-wide initiatives u00b7 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal policies u00b7 Establish, track, and report environmental performance goals for the facility u00b7 Monitor and report key environmental metrics and KPIs on a regular basis u00b7 Support Manufacturing 4.0 and continuous improvement initiatives related to sustainability u00b7 Maintain and execute the facilityu2019s Waste Management Plan u00b7 Serve as the primary liaison with local government and environmental regulatory agencies Minimum Requirements + Bacheloru2019s degree + At least 2 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility OR + Masteru2019s degree OR + At least 4 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility Additional Requirements + Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
