Summary The St. Louis VA Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Neurologist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding care to our veteran patients, deliver educational support to medical trainees, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our services. Responsibilities Patient Care: Provide comprehensive neurological care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological disorders. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and appropriate diagnostic testing. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices. Perform and interpret specialized procedures, such as botulinum toxin injections, EMG/NCV testing and EEG interpretation, commensurate with experience and training. Consultation and Collaboration: Offer consultation services to primary care providers and other specialties within the St. Louis VA Health Care System. Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other VA staff members to ensure clear understanding of medical conditions and treatment plans. Education and Training: Provide mentorship, supervision, and teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows. Participate in continuing education activities to stay current with advances in neurology. Research and Quality Improvement: Engagement in research is encouraged, commensurate with interest, experience and training. Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance patient care outcomes and service delivery. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely medical records and documentation. Adhere to VA policies, procedures, and regulations. Attend departmental meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
