At UPMC Presbyterian, weu2019re looking for a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to guide operations, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of safety, precision, and patient care. Why Youu2019ll Love This Role: + Take on a leadership position within a critical support department + Work overnight hours (Mondayu2013Friday) with rotating weekend call every 4 weeks + Drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in surgical support services + Make a lasting impact through mentorship, collaboration, and quality improvement What Youu2019ll Do: + Lead daily operations of the department, ensuring top-tier cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments + Supervise, mentor, and support a team of skilled technicians, promoting a culture of accountability, growth, and compassion + Serve as a key resource for clinical teams, solving issues, answering questions, and ensuring service excellence + Partner with the manager to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards + Drive performance improvement and help spread best practices across the department and hospital + Champion education and development by coordinating internal and external training opportunities + Lead initiatives that promote diversity, team wellness, and a positive work culture + Participate in staff evaluations, scheduling, and strategic planning for departmental success + Share knowledge through presentations, posters, and innovation efforts What It Takes: + Strong leadership and communication skills + Ability to manage people and processes in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment + Commitment to patient safety, quality, and service + Passion for mentoring, motivating, and making a difference behind the scenes + High School Graduate or equivalent. + 3 years experience in central sterile processing required. + 2 years supervisory or team leader experience required. + Ability to communicate effectively with peers, physicians, staff of other hospital departments, and outside contacts. Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis.
