Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant ( COTA) Location: Thief River Falls, MN Hourly Rate: $22- $40 SUMMARY Administers occupational therapy treatment to program participants in accordance with a program plan developed by a licensed occupational therapist. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below. u2022Assures all program participants receive scheduled occupational therapy treatments and documents therapy sessions. u2022Performs active, passive, and/or resistive therapeutic exercises, and applies general therapy principles to program participants. u2022Demonstrates knowledge of indications and contraindications of heating modalities and techniques. u2022Fabricates appropriate splints under the instruction of an occupational therapist and instructs program participants in splint wear and care. u2022Trains program participants at the homebound and community levels, including endurance training. u2022Maintains a good working knowledge of occupational therapy equipment and therapeutic exercise treatments. u2022Confers with staff members and other health care members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate program participant information for modifying and coordinating current treatment program, and participates in treatment planning with trans-disciplinary team as requested. Adheres to the ethics of confidentiality. u2022Takes inventory of current occupational therapy equipment and confers with the department regarding current status and future needs. Requests supplies as needed. u2022Maintains or checks daily billing logs for program participants. u2022Follows daily scheduling patterns, communicates with staff, and adjusts schedules as needed for flexibility. u2022Performs other related duties and activities as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None Required Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required by the Job The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job. Education and Experience: u2022High School Diploma and graduate of an accredited COTA program with A.A.S. in OT u2022Two years of experience in neurou2013rehabilitation preferred Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: u2022Licensed as COTA/L in State. Other Requirements: u2022Travel as needed Physical Requirements: u2022Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
