Job Description

Summary The Registered Nurse provides services to the Acute Nursing Outpatient Division at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. The incumbent is assigned as an RN for the Vascular Access Team with the potential to cross train to the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC), and outpatient blood draw/EKG/UA specimen collection area (Quick Draw). Responsibilities The Vascular Access RN is responsible for, but not limited to, peripheral lab collection, peripheral line placement with and without ultrasound, advance line placement including midlines, PICC lines, and IO, maintaining central and peripheral line access, responding to all critical situations within the medical center, and collaborating with varying levels of healthcare disciplines to determine appropriate vascular access based on IV therapy needs. With the potential to cross train to the Ambulatory Infusion Center and Quick Draw for, but not limited to, peripheral line replacement/specimen collection.
