Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Hughesville, Maryland. This contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and excels in managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits. The role requires a strong background in accounting practices and proficiency with relevant software. Responsibilities: u2022 Accurately process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. u2022 Perform routine bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy. u2022 Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. u2022 Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive financial records and reports. u2022 Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries. u2022 Collaborate with departments to verify the completeness and accuracy of financial data. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and external accounting regulations. u2022 Utilize accounting software to record, analyze, and manage financial transactions. u2022 Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data efficiently. u2022 Monitor cash flow, expenditures, and receivables to maintain proper financial tracking. Requirements u2022 Associateu2019s or bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with a focus on detail. u2022 Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. u2022 Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. u2022 Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.
