Industrial Mechanic

Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician to support our food and beverage production facility. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems for high-speed packaging lines , processing equipment , and automated systems . Expertise in PLCs , three-phase motors , and compliance with food safety standards is essential to ensure uninterrupted production and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities + Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for food and beverage processing and packaging equipment. + Troubleshoot and program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for automated production lines. + Maintain and repair three-phase motors , conveyors, mixers, and other critical machinery. + Ensure all electrical work complies with FDA , USDA , and food safety regulations . + Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain product quality. + Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. + Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize equipment performance. + Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate records for audits. Qualifications + Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred. + Experience: 3u20135 years as an industrial electrician in food and beverage manufacturing or similar regulated environment. + Skills: + Strong knowledge of PLCs , motor controls, and automation systems. + Familiarity with food-grade equipment and sanitary design principles. + Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues quickly. + Other Requirements: + Understanding of HACCP , GMP , and food safety compliance. + Ability to work in cold/hot environments and around wet processes. + Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Physical Requirements + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas. + Comfortable working in a food production environment with exposure to noise, moisture, and temperature variations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cheverly, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.35 - $35.50/hr.
