Starter/Ranger

Set up and/or closing of the course, starting golfers from the first tee and keeping golfers informed of rules and regulations. Keeping pace of play on the course up to standard.This position will consist of three different shifts. Morning Starter, Morning Ranger and Afternoon Ranger.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESKeep order, ensure prompt tee off, and maintain the flow of golfers as they prepare to play the coursePick up litter around the first tee, putting green, and pro shopCheck all ball washers; fill with water/solution if neededRove the course throughout your shift. Be available to as many golfers as possibleKnow all course rules and enforce themRecord and report all complaints to the Head Golf form any golfer who damages private property that they are liable for restitutionSee that play moves along steadily, asking slow golfers if faster golfers may play throughPeriodically check water coolers and fill if neededEmpty garbage cans when neededPick up any litter on the courseComplete accident/incident reports for all accidents on courseProvide excellent customer service - display a positive and professional attitude at all timesWork as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departmentsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTSGeneral knowledge of the game of golfMust have a valid Drivers LicenseMust have reliable transportationMust be able to lift up to 40 poundsMust be willing and available to work weekends and holidaysGold PrivilegesAbility to drive a golf cartAbility to work unsupervisedExcellent communication and customer service skillsMust be able to relate to other people in a professional manner.Ability to understand the rules of golf.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWalking: while picking up trash and coolers around golf courseTalking/Hearing: to communicate with staff and publicStooping: to pick up litterCrouching: to pick up litterSeeing: to drive ranger's cart; to retrieve supplies and equipmentLifting: up to 40 poundsAbility to work inside and outside in different weather conditions
