Description We are looking for an experienced RPG Developer to join our team in the Des Moines Metro. As part of this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining RPG-based applications while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and strong communication skills to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction. Responsibilities: u2022 Develop, test, and maintain RPG-based applications, ensuring functionality and performance meet business needs. u2022 Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. u2022 Troubleshoot and resolve issues in RPG, DB2, and related systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. u2022 Document processes, workflows, and solutions to ensure clarity and consistency in project deliverables. u2022 Work closely with team members to delegate tasks effectively and ensure project milestones are achieved. u2022 Provide exceptional support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving technical challenges. u2022 Adapt to different versions of RPG, leveraging knowledge to optimize code across platforms. u2022 Conduct technical reviews and ensure quality assurance, despite the absence of a dedicated QA team. u2022 Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives. u2022 Take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 10 years of experience in RPG development, including proficiency with RPG III, RPG IV, RPG Free, RPGLE, and SQLRPGLE. u2022 Strong knowledge of DB2 and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize database-related code. u2022 Experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and React.js is a plus. u2022 Proven ability to work with multiple versions of RPG and adapt to diverse coding environments. u2022 Excellent communication skills to gather requirements and collaborate effectively with business partners. u2022 Ability to work independently and in a team environment, demonstrating leadership and delegation skills. u2022 Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to manage projects from initiation to completion. u2022 Familiarity with IBM RPG systems and related tools, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
