This position is responsible for communicating regularly with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers while following department expectations for interactions with patients and families.u00a0This position is required to be on call depending on the position's location.Department: CSH Radiology DiagnosticShift: PRN (as needed)Hours: Varied shifts which may include days/evenings/nights. This position may also include weekends and holidays as determined by the needs of the department.Position is eligible for shift differentials (PRN, evening, night & weekend).Duties & Responsibilities1. Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.2. Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.3. Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.4. Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.5. Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipment following safety procedures and protocols.6. Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices.7. Maintains required competency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign.8. Demonstrates and maintains competency and ability to use all aspects of Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.9. In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives.10. Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration.u00a0Safely administers contrast using the five rights. Ensures contrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patients' medical record.11. Assists Provider with procedures as necessary (Maintaining technologist Scope of Practice). Follows established procedural guidelines; documents appropriate information as required; practices aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary.12. Follows department policies, procedures and protocols.u00a0Raises or addresses concerns regarding non-compliance or patient/staff safety.13. Follows established quality assurance/control (QA/QC) and safety programs to include The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR), and the State of Colorado.14. Promptly reports equipment malfunctions or errors and contacts respective service engineer or Biomed for repair.15. Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, following established department guidelines for customer service.16.
