The Certified Technician operates several types of surgical instrument sterilizers and decontamination equipment.Job Information:Department: Sterile Processing - Colorado Springs HospitalJob Status: Fulltime (80hours a pay period)Shift: Evening (3pm - 11:30pm)Weekend call and some holiday coverage requiredDuties & ResponsibilitiesInspects and assembles surgical instruments, equipment, trays and packs.Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings; may deliver case carts to surgical floor.Identifies and reports supply, equipment, and procedure problems.Assists in the orientation and continuing education of lower-level Sterile Processing Technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and effective communication within the department.Maintains established departmental standards by adhering to policies and procedures, contributing to quality assurance initiatives.Render used items clean and decontaminated manually or mechanically by following established policies and procedures in the decontamination area for instruments, supplies, carts and equipment.Participates in achieving departmental sterilization objectives by following policies and procedures related to assembly, inspection, sterilization, storage, and proper handling of instrument trays, supplies, and equipment.Develops and maintains expert knowledge of surgical service, sterile process, or instrument classification.Collaborates with other Sterile Processing Departments within the organization to address staffing challenges.Minimum QualificationsDegreesHigh School diploma or GEDExperienceRequired:One (1) year of experienceLicenses & CertificationsCertified Registered Central Service TechnicianSalary InformationPay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.Hourly Range: $20.33 to $30.50Benefits InformationHere, you matter.
