About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Developer to join our Platform Engineering team to build and contribute to APIs used to provision and maintain infrastructure components. This role is ideal for a developer who understands the toil of infrastructure and is passionate about removing barriers with automation for fellow engineers. Youu2019ll lead by example by designing and implementing scalable, reusable IaC modules and GitOps workflows that abstract infrastructure complexity and enable self-service capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic architecture, cross-functional collaboration, and high-quality code delivery. In this role, you will: u2022 Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications u2022 Architect and develop reusable, modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or Crossplane. u2022 Design and implement GitOps-driven workflows that enable automated provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure. u2022 Build and maintain self-service platform capabilities that empower developers to manage infrastructure independently through intuitive interfaces and APIs. u2022 Lead the integration of infrastructure automation with tools such as ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and Backstage to streamline developer experience. u2022 Define and enforce infrastructure standards and golden paths that promote consistency, security, and scalability. u2022 Collaborate with platform, security, and application teams to align infrastructure automation with business and engineering goals. u2022 Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentor other engineers on best practices in infrastructure automation. u2022 Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of infrastructure tooling and workflows. Required Qualifications: u2022 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education u2022 3 + years of experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or similar IaC tools u2022 3 + years of experience with GitOps principles and experience with tools like ArgoCD or Flux u2022 2 + years of experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) u2022 2+ years of experience with designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating infrastructure automation into platform services Desired Qualifications: u2022 Experience with Crossplane or other control plane abstraction tools u2022 Familiarity with developer portals (e.g., Backstage) and CI/CD pipelines u2022 Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) u2022 Exposure to image management tools like Packer or Image Builder u2022 Background in building platform engineering solutions that support cloud-native development and service ownership u2022 Knowledge of observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) u2022 A developer-first mindset with a passion for reducing friction and improving engineering productivity Job Expectations: u2022 Telecommuting is not an option for this position u2022 This position offers a hybrid work schedule u2022 Relocation assistance in not available for this position u2022 This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
