Key Responsibilities Design and develop new products, components, or systems using CAD software. Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Conduct design analysis, simulations, and prototyping to validate concepts. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency (DFM/DFA). Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements and cost. Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing and implement corrective actions. Manage design documentation and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Demonstrated ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to engineering drawings. Experience with material selection, analysis, and testing for various industrial applications. Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing designs for cost, performance, and production efficiency. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or machining processes. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Familiarity with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 concepts.
