Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to assist with critical year-end accounting tasks during a contract position in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role requires expertise in financial processes such as year-end close, audit preparation, and handling fixed assets and leases. The position offers an excellent opportunity to provide essential support while contributing to the smooth operation of accounting functions. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and post accurate journal entries to maintain financial records. u2022 Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper reconciliation. u2022 Execute year-end closing procedures to finalize financial statements. u2022 Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing required documentation. u2022 Oversee tasks related to fixed asset management and lease accounting. u2022 Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure deadlines are met. u2022 Assist with resolving discrepancies and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Provide on-site support during the initial phase and as needed thereafter. u2022 Ensure financial data integrity through thorough analysis and review. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on year-end processes. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management. u2022 Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance procedures. u2022 Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting and lease management. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and tools. u2022 Excellent analytical and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to work on-site during the initial week and part-time thereafter. u2022 Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
