Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description The primary objective of the Machine Operator is to accurately and efficiently produce quality materials with minimal supervision while ensuring safety at all times. The operator must maintain a safe and tidy work environment and consistently meet production standards. Responsibilities + Work in a safe and organized manner at all times. + Set up and operate the machine correctly to ensure quality and efficient run speed. + Routinely achieve production run and setup standards. + Report maintenance issues promptly. + Read and understand work orders and corresponding Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P's). + Follow all instructions on work orders. + Continually check bags during production for quality control. + Perform proper startup, cleanup, and shutdown procedures. + Maintain quality control database at job start-up and upon completion of work orders. + Ensure compliance with food safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. + Adhere to all food safety and quality policies. + Execute proper procedures and Portco Test Methods. + Clean equipment in preparation for the next production run. + Perform daily housekeeping procedures. + Suggest improvements for production efficiency and workflow. + Report safety issues. + Obtain supervisor or management sign-off on sample bags for all work orders. + Train helpers on machine setup, production, and quality. + Cover for other operators during absences. Essential Skills + Proficient in production, machine operation, assembly, and mechanical tasks. + Skilled in maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. + Capable of performing inspections. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to troubleshoot problems and report to supervision for corrective actions. + Proficient in reading a tape measure accurately. + Basic math skills. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Commitment to housekeeping and personal hygiene. Work Environment Working conditions may vary, including day, swing, and graveyard shifts. The position may require weekend work depending on production needs, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toppenish, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
