JOB SUMMARY The Veterinary Hospital Shift Lead (u201cShift Leadu201d) provides exceptional client and pet experiences while assisting the Practice Manager and/or Chief of Staff (COS) in guiding the team to maximize productivity and profitability of the hospital, and helps ensure effective communication with all clients, internal stakeholders, and colleagues. The Shift Lead also performs the duties of a Client Services Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant when needed. HIRING QUALIFICATIONS Special Working Conditions u00b7 Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. u00b7 Ability to be confident around pets (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.) u00b7 This position requires working special hours including weekends and evening shifts. u00b7 Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. u00b7 You must be comfortable working in an environment with loud noise (moderately high) and strong smells. u00b7 Requires sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while at hospital. u00b7 Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds. u00b7 Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment. u00b7 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. u00b7 Associate is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances. Experience, Education and/or Training u00b7 High School Diploma preferred. u00b7 You must be 18 years of age or older. u00b7 You must have a minimum of two years of veterinary hospital experience.
