Thisposition is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professorlevel in the clinical track or tenure track, tailored to the individualcandidate's qualifications and interests. The new hire will join acollaborative Neurology and Neurosurgery team currently composed of twoclinical track faculty. In addition to faculty, the neurology teamincludes 3 residents, 2 designated veterinary technicians, 1 veterinaryassistant or student hourly, and 1 client care liaison. The hospitalalso has other house officers, including 12 rotating interns, who rotatethrough the neurology service. Clinical service responsibilities in UWVeterinary Care (UWVC) include providing high-quality patient care andhands-on training for veterinary students, interns, and residents.Strong communication skills and a commitment to consulting withreferring veterinarians and clients are essential. Neurology managesapproximately 1,200 cases annually out of the 27,400 small animalpatients seen each year at UWVC. The SVM is a collegial, collaborativeenvironment that offers specialty care with board-certified experts inallied services including anesthesia and pain management, cardiology,dentistry and oral surgery, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internalmedicine, neurology, physical therapy, medical and radiation oncology,ophthalmology, anatomic and clinical pathology, primary care, specialspecies, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Additionally, thehospital has a dedicated LCSW who meets with clients and offers supportgroups. In 2024, UWVC opened a new state-of-the-art hospital.
