Salary Range $325,000.00 - $325,000.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Description Position Summary: The Psychiatrist will serve as a vital member of the Mobile Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Unit, providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. This role involves delivering care directly in community settings via a mobile health unit, helping bridge access to treatment for underserved and high-risk populations. The Psychiatrist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, counselors, peer recovery specialists, and case managers. Mobile MAT program is a healthcare service that delivers addiction treatment directly to individuals in their communities using mobile units, such as vans or specialized vehicles. These programs provide medication assisted treatment, which typically includes medications like buprenorphine, combined with counseling and support services, to help individuals with opioid use disorder manage cravings, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and support long-term recovery. These units are designed to reach underserved or remote areas, offering greater accessibility to individuals who may face barriers like transportation issues, limited access to healthcare facilities, or social stigma. In addition to providing medication, the mobile MAT program offers a range of supportive services, such as mental health counseling, case management, risk reduction education, and referrals to additional healthcare or social services. By bringing these resources directly to communities in need, mobile MAT program aim to increase access to comprehensive addiction treatment, improve patient outcomes, and reduce overdose deaths. Essential Job Functions: + Provide medical consultation to all treatment programs regarding current status recommendations pertaining to the behavioral health of clients + Ensures the dispensing and storage of medication adhere to law, regulations, licensure, and professional standards of practice. + Supervises, evaluates, and provides psychiatric treatment for adults in person or telehealth using WestCare HIPAA compliant platform on scheduled days. + Complete written comprehensive psychiatric evaluation reports in clinical data system and to be maintained in electronic clinical record. + Consult if needed with the Medical Director about mental health treatment plans and psychotropic medication educational plans. + Maintain medical records in compliance with agency, the Department of Children and Families, CARF, Managing entity and Medicaid standards and regulations. + Document notes, services and prescriptions into CDS during psychiatric service + Develop Wellness Plan with each client after psychiatric evaluation is completed and review as needed. + Provide Medication Assisted treatment to clients including education and follow up and document in CDS + Review and electronically sign all lab results and physicals conducted and upload into the clientu2019s chart in CDS. + Comply with all Federal (42 CFR and HIPPA), State, Local, ad agency confidentiality laws and regulations + Conduct telehealth psychiatric evaluations and/or outpatient treatment + Accommodates referred clients within 7 calendar days from the date of referral. + Conduct telehealth psychiatric re-evaluations, as necessary, for referred clients. + Provide a written comprehensive psychiatric evaluation report to be maintained in each clientu2019s clinical record. + Document client sessions in CDS while providing service. + Maintain medical records in compliance with agency, Department of Children and Families, CARF, and Medicaid standards and regulations. + Completes all orientation and mandated training activities, including E-Learning Courses, within required timeframes, and in accordance with the criteria established for this position. + Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and + Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Certifications/Licensures: + Must hold active clear medical license in the state of Florida is required at time of hire. + Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry required + Board Certified or Board Eligible in Substance Abuse Specialty preferred Education: + Graduation from an accredited college with a doctorate in medicine is required. Experience and Competencies: + A minimum of two (2) yearsu2019 experience in Detox and Office Base Suboxone/Subutex Induction required. + Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license + Experience working with similar-like behavioral health agency organizations is preferred + Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred + 20 hours of continuing education required annually. + Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. + Understands, communicates (both verbally and in writing), and collaborates effectively and with precision, given the time constraints of each task. + Ability to interpret and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and/or unusual circumstances. + CPR Certification, First Aid Certification + Ability utilize Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as needed + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character + Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required. + Possesses sufficient means of independent mobility. + Maintains confidential files and records + Working knowledge of behavioral health terminology + The ability to determine appropriateness and eligibility for consumeru2019s admission to a particular program based on the current medical status of the consumer. + The ability to use diagnostic criteria to determine the consumeru2019s chemical use severity. + A thorough understanding of potential interactions between medication, psychotropic medication and illicit drugs. + The ability to explain medical problems, medication regimens and potential medication side-effects to consumers in a clear, concise and developmentally appropriate manner. + The ability to evaluate the impact of alcohol or drug on the consumeru2019s medical condition. + General knowledge of common illnesses and diseases across the life span, including infancy, early childhood, adolescence, adult and geriatric. + Ability to evaluate for signs and symptoms of acute alcohol and drug withdrawal syndromes. + Demonstrates the ability to respond to medical/psychiatric crises and to refer consumers for emergency medical care.
