This position is available at the Assistant, Associate,or Full Professor level in the clinical track or tenure track, tailoredto the individual candidate's qualifications and interests. The newhire will join a collaborative Neurology and Neurosurgery team currentlycomposed of two clinical track faculty. In addition to faculty, theneurology team includes 3 residents, 2 designated veterinarytechnicians, 1 veterinary assistant or student hourly, and 1 client careliaison. The hospital also has other house officers, including 12rotating interns, who rotate through the neurology service. Clinicalservice responsibilities in UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) include providinghigh-quality patient care and hands-on training for veterinary students,interns, and residents. Strong communication skills and a commitment toconsulting with referring veterinarians and clients are essential.Neurology manages approximately 1,200 cases annually out of the 27,400small animal patients seen each year at UWVC. The SVM is a collegial,collaborative environment that offers specialty care withboard-certified experts in allied services including anesthesia and painmanagement, cardiology, dentistry and oral surgery, dermatology,diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, physical therapy,medical and radiation oncology, ophthalmology, anatomic and clinicalpathology, primary care, special species, and soft tissue and orthopedicsurgery. Additionally, the hospital has a dedicated LCSW who meets withclients and offers support groups. In 2024, UWVC opened a newstate-of-the-art hospital.
