The Henry Ford Medical Groupu2019s Division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine is seeking a physician to join our team as a Senior Staff Hospice Physician. This is a unique opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while contributing to a well-established, mission-driven program in Southeast Michigan. Position Highlights u00b7 Join a non-profit, hospital-based hospice with over 30 years of dedicated service to the Southeast Michigan community. u00b7 Collaborate with a seasoned interdisciplinary team committed to high-quality, patient-centered care. u00b7 Serve as faculty for our ACGME-accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program (2 fellows/year). u00b7 Practice at a respected academic institution affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine. u00b7 Care for a diverse patient population across a variety of settings. u00b7 Structured orientation and ongoing mentorship provided by the Hospice Medical Director. u00b7 Depending on interests and skills, there may be opportunities to provide coverage for inpatient hospice patients and perform palliative care consultations. Key Responsibilities u00b7 With support from the Hospice Medical Director, lead the medical oversight of hospice patient care services. u00b7 In collaboration with the Hospice Medical Director, deliver educational seminars and outreach to health system and community clinicians to enhance awareness and access to hospice services. u00b7 Collaborate with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team to manage terminal illnesses, related conditions, and symptom distress. u00b7 Conduct home visits when clinically appropriate and as requested by the care team. u00b7 Apply expertise in prognostication and hospice regulations to assess eligibility, related diagnoses, and appropriate levels of care. u00b7 Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners. u00b7 Engage in scholarly activities including education, quality improvement, and/or research. + Initial board certification in a primary specialty. + Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. + Completion of a Palliative Medicine Fellowship or equivalent experience. + Demonstrated qualities of being self-directed, flexible, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning. + A strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and exceptional patient service.
