JOB REQUIREMENTS: Dematic is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to joinour Circular Sortation Center of Excellence. In this role, you'll workwith an international team to bring advanced automation systems to lifeat customer sites worldwide, helping develop a more efficient andsustainable future. You'll develop and optimize PLC programs(Allen-Bradley) for our latest sortation systems, manage customdatabases for accuracy and performance, and maintain safetydocumentation and checklists. Most meaningfully, you'll lead on-sitecommissioning to ensure flawless integration and outstanding systemperformance. This position, based in Grand Rapids, offers a hybrid workmodel when not on-site. Travel up to 85% gives you the chance toexperience diverse cultures while working on projects for leading globalcompanies. The base payrange for this role is estimated to be $56,250 - $82,500 annually atthe time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by variousfactors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, andskills. Tasks and Qualifications: What You'll Do In This Role: BuildPLC programs from the ground up, interpreting electrical schematics,system specifications, and functional descriptions to build robust andefficient control logic. This includes selecting appropriate PLChardware and communication protocols. Design, develop, and implementPLC/SCADA programs to interface the sorter system with external conveyorsystems. This includes leading data exchange, error handling, andoverall system synchronization. Build and maintain comprehensive safetychecklists and documentation, including risk assessments, safetyfunction descriptions, and validation procedures. Ensure compliance withrelevant safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849). Complete offlinecommissioning procedures for the sorter system, including detailedtesting of safety-related PLC programs according to the safetychecklist. Document all test results and deviations.
