Occupational Therapy Assistant

Avir at Camp Wood - We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team Full Time! ***Offering $2,500 Sign On Bonus for this position***Under general supervision of an Occupational Therapist and according to established treatment plans and specific procedures, provides treatment to occupational therapy patients in order to assist them in regaining physical abilities and function, increase functional skills and independence. Performs related clerical and service duties.Responsibilities:Assists the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing occupational therapy care plans; performs daily occupational therapy assignmentsResponsible for the daily care of assigned patientsGuides patients through prescribed exercise programs, including passive, assistive, and resistive exercise routinesApplies heat, light, water, and electrically based treatments/modalities (i.e., ultrasound, infrared lamp, muscle stimulation, traction, hot and cold packs, paraffin baths, whirlpool, diathermy, etc.) to stimulate muscle/nerve function and/or for pain management, as prescribed, with proven competency and available equipment.Assists patients in ADL skills retraining.Performs other therapeutic activities such as massage and body mechanics.Observes patient condition during treatment noting significant changes in patient conditionRecords patient response to treatment and overall progress in patient chartsRefers patients to Occupational Therapist for re-evaluation as necessaryPrepares patient referrals Qualifications:Associate's Degree in Occupational TherapyMust have current licensureBenefits:Medical/Dental/Vision InsuranceAncillary policies including Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Coverage Voluntary Life Insurance and AD&DPaid Time OffRetirement 401KUnparalleled Corporate Support
