General Description: The Special Projects Crew Lead is a working supervisory position. The successful individual will possess the experience to personally accomplish the work as well as instruct, lead, and direct field personnel in the execution of work. Ensures that all work is performed in a safe, productive, and compliant manner. The Crew Lead must possess strong organizational and technical experience to effectively determine project resource requirements, task durations, and accurately document results and details. This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, and Excellence. CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies. Essential Duties & Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Oversee and direct any of the Crafts of the Special Projects Department. Demonstrate proficient working knowledge of crane operations, welding, insulation, scaffolding, blast and coating, and the permitting processes and procedures. Lead by example while complying with all CCI Industrial guidelines, policies, and procedures with a strong safety background. Supervise field personnel in an efficient and safe manner, maintaining conformance to awarded scope of work. Coordinate and communicate effectively with Superintendent and management to overcome issues and challenges while ensuring continual productivity and meeting challenging logistical situations. The ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner with the client out in the field. Attend site visits and job walk-downs on behalf of CCI. Lead job preparation, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for use and mobilized efficiently. Execute tasks consistent with the approved plans, schedules, and scope of work. Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by leading and participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walk-downs, pre-job safety discussions and leadership engagements. Promote and participate in safety programs (STEP BACK) Hazardous Waste Management, which includes educating others and ensuring that all activities are following regulations. Initiate problem solving and perform repairs on any coating equipment, in a timely manner and within the boundaries of previous training. Apply protective coatings to Interior/exterior surfaces of tanks and vessels, FBE coatings on piping and road crossings, polyuria and/or polyurethane to Roofs and Tank exterior. Assists with identification of prospects/client’s mechanical needs and the strategic approach to gain new business. Communicate daily status of current projects to Foreman/Supervisor to ensure all projects are timely and within company and contractor standards. Ability to read product specifications and apply protective coatings to meet specifications. Prepare surfaces to be coated and painted to NACE standards, including Bristle Blasting and Media Blasting, insulation replacement and repair. Construct minor scaffolding or platforms in accordance with federal regulations. Maintain and demonstrate proficient working knowledge of all equipment related to industrial painting and coating, response-related equipment, policies, procedures, and tactics always. Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe. Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working. Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly. Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirement. Detail oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills. Problem analysis and problem resolution. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work well with others in an environment that includes harsh weather conditions, remote locations, and diverse personalities. Skilled in written, verbal and interpersonal communication that includes good listening, providing clear direction and effective feedback. Skilled in Intermediate level proficiency with computers, and Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project). Ability to speak, write, read, and interpret the English language. Ability to pass Respiratory Fit Test and wear respiratory protection (Full face, ? Face and Supplied Air Respiratory Protection). Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 10 or 30 training is preferred. 24 Hour Hazwoper Certified Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Position may be exposed to extreme weather conditions at times while working outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and waste. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hard-toe safety footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves are required while working. Contingencies: Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check. Requirements Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required. A valid driver's license is required. 10 plus years of Oil Field Experience with emphasis on heavy equipment operations Mechanical and blasting & coating experience to include blasting equipment, airless and conventional sprays is required. Previous supervisory experience TWIC Card Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 50 feet. Shoveling up to 20 lbs. Frequent walking and standing. Occasional keyboard use, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching. HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms. VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 30 pounds for 20 feet. RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
