UPMC Cole Medical Group is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Port Allegany office. This is a full-time day shift position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm , with no weekends or major holiday commitments. (including new grads) + $7,500 - 2yr Commitment More than 1-year exp. Purpose: Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Responsibilities: Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned. u00b7 Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip. u00b7 Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight. u00b7 Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. u00b7 Comply with all policies and procedures. u00b7 Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). u00b7 Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. u00b7 Draw blood. u00b7 Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. u00b7 Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse. u00b7 Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions. + Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. + One year of clinical experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: u00b7 CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. u00b7 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
