In this position... This position is within the ICE Propulsion and Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) organization and is for a Component Design/Release Engineer (CPMT Leader). The specific sub-systems of responsibility would be within the Base Engine. Preferred experience in Front End Accessory Drive systems, Sand cast/Die Cast metallic and/or Composite injecton molded components, and static / dynamic elastomeric systems. The Nano V6 engine is deployed globally in high volume on the F150, Explorer, Aviator, Bronco, Ranger, and Everest vehicle lines. What you'll do... The Product Development Engineer will u2022 Design & Release new and existing components/sub-systems which meet program requirements. u2022 Lead CPMT activities and manage workplan deliverables meeting GPDS timing. u2022 Lead WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System); alerts, concerns and notice processing. u2022 Lead/Support resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues. u2022 Create, complete, approve DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation. u2022 Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate documentation (FEDE, ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAFu2019s, Global Integrator, PPAP, 543 Chart etc.) of program specific deliverables. u2022 Support all Program Meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, Change Control, etcu2026). u2022 Work directly with Ford Manufacturing, External Suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and Launch teams to support program requirements and resolve quality issues. u2022 Interface with cross-functional team members, such as Purchasing, Mating Components, Calibration, and Core Engineering. u2022 Lead / Support resolution of all design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues. u2022 Analyze warranty data and customer feedback on system or component performance and identify improvements (design and process) and implement prevent reoccurrence. u2022 Lead / Support TVM cost reduction activities. u2022 Travel as necessary to Ford Assembly Plants/Facilities and Suppler/Sub-Supplier sites for issue resolution and build support. You'll have... + Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, materials engineering or equivalent degree. Master's degree preferred. + 3+ years of experience with Powertrain engineering + Technical experience with Gasoline Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) + Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills (black belt certification preferred) + Experience with CAE Simulation Methodologies (1D, 3D, FEA, CFD) + Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) + An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
