The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test complex embedded and cloud-based software solutions supporting mission-critical space and ground systems. This role involves working across a multi-disciplinary Agile development environment to architect software capabilities, integrate high-performance or timing-sensitive applications, and ensure systems meet rigorous technical and security requirements. The engineer will collaborate closely with systems, hardware, DevOps, and test teams to support the full program lifecycleu2014from concept and architecture, through development and integration, to deployment and sustainment. Clearance Required: Active Top Secret (TS/SCI preferred) Basic Qualifications: u2022 US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance (Active TS or TS/SCI strongly preferred). u2022 Professional experience in software development, including embedded or application-level development. u2022 Programming experience in C/C++ and Python; experience with Java, JavaScript, or C# also acceptable. u2022 Experience designing software solutions for complex or high-performance systems, including systems with timing or throughput constraints. u2022 Knowledge of embedded system architectures, MPSoC environments, and/or experience testing embedded systems. u2022 Hands-on experience integrating complex software systems into larger architectures or multi-component solutions. u2022 Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, including Agile development, integration, and test methodologies. u2022 Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and modern CI/CD practices (automated build, deployment pipelines, configuration control). u2022 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Agile teams and build consensus. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience. Desired Skills: u2022 Experience with application containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and deployment in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift). u2022 Knowledge of microservices, APIs, DevOps practices, and modern cloud technology frameworks (.NET Core, Angular, etc.). u2022 Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Redis. u2022 Background working with Horizon or other command-and-control systems for satellites, antennas, or ground assets. u2022 Experience supporting full program lifecycle execution, from concept through end-of-life. u2022 Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives or acting as a technical lead/architect. u2022 Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting (bash, ash, ksh), and automation frameworks. u2022 Familiarity with the space domain, mission operations, or satellite/ground system architectures. u2022 Strong critical thinking, problem solving, time management, and ability to deliver results in rapidly changing environments. u2022 Ability to establish strong working relationships and communicate at a professional level with engineers, leadership, and customers. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateu2019s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
