Eatonu2019s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Forklift Driver/Material Handler-1st Shift at our Reno, NV facility The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour. The core hours are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. In this function, you will: u2022 Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods. u2022 Load and unload trailers as required. u2022 Pick and pull stock for delivery. u2022 Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis (assist during backyard attendant absence). u2022 Organize material storage locations in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis. u2022 Complete daily forklift inspection. u2022 Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.). u2022 Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements. u2022 Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise. u2022 Keeps work areas clean and safe. u2022 Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: u2022 Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas. u2022 Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor. u2022 Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility. u2022 Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: u2022 Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting. u2022 Must possess a valid and current driveru2019s license. u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred qualifications: u2022 12+ months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting. Position Success Criteria: u2022 Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English. u2022 Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice. u2022 Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift. u2022 Able to regularly lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance. u2022 Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
